Choosing the right spotlights is crucial during the renovation process, otherwise, your home might look "unique." Today, I'll share some practical tips on how to choose spotlights to help you avoid common pitfalls!
Spotlight Aperture: Choosing a 7.5cm aperture is the most common choice, making future light replacements much easier.
Wattage Selection: If you have a main light that isn't very bright, you can choose a 9-watt warm white spotlight. If the main light is bright enough, a 6-watt spotlight is sufficient to create a warm atmosphere.
Wall Distance: The distance between the spotlight and the wall is also important. Generally, spotlights should be 20cm to 25cm from the wall, but you can adjust this according to your needs.
Deep Anti-Glare Cup: Under normal circumstances, the deep anti-glare cup function of spotlights should meet daily needs. If someone standing under the light feels glared, it might be a design flaw in the light.
Beam Angle: For a wall-washing effect, a 38° beam angle is sufficient. If the hallway isn't against a wall, you can choose a 60° beam angle.
Professional Hole Cutting: To achieve better lighting effects, it is recommended to hire a professional electrician to cut the holes to avoid problems. Most electricians may not even know what the lights will look like, let alone design them.
